Société du Havre du Montréal
The Société du Havre de Montréal (SHM) is a non-profit organization financially supported by the three levels of government. Created in 2002, SHM’s mission was to propose the major elements in a development plan, implementation structure and financial strategy for the redevelopment of Montréal’s Harbourfront and the urban areas around it.
Their 2004 report (final report, 2006), Montréal’s Harbourfront Vision 2025, presented a vision for the Montréal Harbourfront in 2025, based on proposals that were presented and discussed during their many consultations. One important recommendation in their report included the redevelopment of Federal Crown lands in the Harbourfront which were underused or neglected.
