The Port of Montréal is the largest inland port on earth, the second busiest port in Canada, and one of the premier maritime access points in North America. With links to more than 100 countries around the world, the port handles roughly 20 million tonnes of cargo each year.
The port is governed by the Montréal Port Authority, an autonomous federal agency whose mission is to provide highly-efficient facilities and services for its clients while respecting the environment.
